Islamabad: The Pakistan Large Steel Producers Association (PLSPA) has asked the government to ensure the production and distribution of Pakistan standards and quality steel products in the country, the news sources reported on March 3.

In a statement released by the authority, the association urged the government to ensure the enforcement of Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA)’s regulations for the development of safe construction materials. The authority also released a report, asking the government to ensure the implementation of standards to secure high-quality steel and steel products that may save millions of lives and prevent material damage. The report also urged the government to facilitate and restructure PSQCA management issues to ensure that it is working as per the law and enforcing better quality standards across the industry.

It is important to note that the Steel Manufacturers Association recently wrote to the federal government and the PSQCA, urging them to take action against such enterprises that produce inferior steel products.
