Lahore: As per the directives issued by LDA Director General (DG) Muhammad Usman Moazzam, the campaign to plant saplings in Lahore Development Authority (LDA)-administered areas and housing schemes was launched officially on Friday, a news source reported.

The LDA DG has invited the general public and the plot owners of these schemes to take part in the drive; set to continue till September 23. This initiative is part of the ‘Plant for Pakistan’ campaign under which the government plans to plant 10 billion trees across the country.
The plantation drive in the LDA-controlled area started from LDA Avenue-I, where the officials planted 1,000 trees on Friday alone. Furthermore, the LDA will also hold awareness walks and set up camps at public places to promote the drive.

In addition, the LDA will host a seminar in its LDA Sports Complex – situated in its head office in Johar Town – next week, where it will also launch a mobile application concerned with this effort.
