Lahore: Izhar-Monnoo Developers has kick-started a plantation drive in Dream Gardens, reported a news source. Plantation at the society will be carried out on patterns followed in Japan.
To further spread awareness on the project, an Urban Forest Workshop was also organised. Forest experts from India and famous Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki shared their experiences and observations with the attendees. Sharing information on how forest land can be rehabilitated, Miyawaki said that by digging earth, land can be made fertile again. He also mentioned that a fairly small chunk of land is enough for setting up an urban forest comprising 30 to 40 trees.
Under the plantation drive launched in Dream Gardens, a total of 350 saplings of various fruit-bearing trees were planted.
