Hyderabad: To control climate change in Sindh, several steps are being taken in addition to planting trees in over 1,500 katchi abadis of the province, reported a news source. The details on the provincial government’s plan to slow down the rate of climate change were revealed by Sindh Katchi Abadi Director General, who is also an environmentalist, Dr. Iqbal Saeed Khan.
Addressing a seminar held to discuss measures to fight heave, Khan shed light on causes that have been contributing to rise in temperature in many cities of Sindh. He requested that public should minimise the use of air conditioners, power generators, and automobiles to keep the emission of harmful gas in control.
The plantation drive in katchi abadis will start off immediately. Khan also said that the residents of these abadis are also being to keep their environment clean, abstain from setting garbage on fire and take part in planting trees.
