Islamabad: Saplings planted on Islamabad expressway from I-8 interchange to Faizabad during its construction have died off due to a number of reasons, so now a new plantation drive is being planned along the expressway, a news source reported.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is planning a program for urgent tree plantation drive in the federal capital, but that has not been finalised yet. Chief Commissioner Islamabad Joudat Ayaz, however, launched the Monsoon tree plantation by planting 500 saplings along the green belt in F-10/F-11.
Islamabad Capital Territory administration plans to plant 1,000 trees each at a large number of locations inside and outside Islamabad.
