Islamabad: The Ministry of Planning and Development has directed all federal ministries and provincial government to prioritize the inclusion of CPEC projects in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for 2021-22.

To this effect, it has directed the officials concerned to identify projects with achievable delivery dates for inclusion in the federal government’s development plan. According to the Public Finance Management Act 2019, projects that have yet to receive technical approves will not be included in the PSDP.
It is pertinent to mention that the executive has enhanced the approvals cap from PKR 60 million to PKR 2,000 million for the Departmental Development Working Party (DDWP) to facilitate timely approvals and eliminate potential cost overrun.

Moreover, the ministry has asked the departments concerned ‘to observe the provisions of 18 amendments while working out the project-wise proposals for PSDP 2021-22’, as per the news source.
