Peshawar: Peshawar Mayor Haji Zubair Ali informed that the government is planning to launch Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) on Ring Road between Hayatabad-Warsak road, according to media reports published on April 25.

A meeting was held in which the mayor revealed that the local administration will soon start work on the shuttle service. The meeting was attended by TransPeshawar Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Fayyaz Khan, Director Finance KPK Urban Mobility Authority Aamir Shaukat Ali, Director Finance of Metropolitan Government Peshawar Shaukat Ali Khan, Chairman of Tehsil Pishtakhara Haroon Siffat, and other officials.

During the meeting, the mayor notified the attendees that concerned authorities are making efforts to run BRT buses on different feeder routes. The TransPeshawar CEO informed the mayor about the route of BRT, provision of transportation facilities, manpower, maintenance of vehicles, security system, purchase of more buses, and special seats for transgender and women. Mayor Ali lauded the efforts of TransPeshawar for the allocation of special seats and asked to provide more value for the said category.
