Gujar Khan: The Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner has approved the plan to computerise land records of Daultala town, a news source reported.
According to MPA Chaudhry Sajid Mahmood, the residents of the westernmost villages of tehsil Gujar Khan had to travel to Gujar Khan for getting computerised land records. Now this facility will be available in Daultala town.
The locals had approached the Punjab government with the request to provide this facility at the said location. The provincial government had referred the matter to the district, which subsequently approved it. Resultantly, the facility is now expected to become available to the town’s residents.
Chaudhry remarked that the current government is working to end the prevalent patwari culture; with this facility representing a step in this direction.
Previously, the Government of Punjab also formed a high-level committee to digitise urban land records for the province.
