Lahore: The Punjab government has sought a plan regarding the development of Bahawalpur Industrial Zone – a news source reported.
Provincial Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal issued the directives. He was presiding over a meeting at the office of the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade. Chairman Punjab Industrial Development and Management Company and CEO Punjab Investment Board were also present.

The minister directed the officials concerned to prepare a report on the proposed industrial zone. He has given instructions for the report to be prepared within a week’s timeframe. He said that the auction of plots in the area will be held in a transparent manner.
Furthermore, Iqbal issued orders to expedite construction work on the Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park. This park is being set up on an area of 1,500 acres at a distance of 40 kilometres from Lahore.

It will comprise a technical education and training centre, as well as a labour colony. This colony will be constructed on an area of 200 acres.
