Rawalpindi: Historic buildings developed during the British and Mughal reign are expected to be preserved under a new rehabilitation plan devised by the district administration, according to news resources. The Haveli Sujan and Bagh Sardaran Gurdwara are to be restored in the first phase of this scheme.
The Punjab government has tasked the district administration with identifying heritage sites in the city for restoration and renovation purposes. The provincial executive seeks to develop these sites as tourism destinations. The administration, under this initiative, has enlisted all buildings that were developed in the Mughal or Sikh era as heritage sites that require renovation work.

The 129-year-old Sujan Haveli, located on the streets of Bhanbara Bazaar was built by Sikh politician Sardar Sujan Singh and is a fine example of brick masonry.
The Bagh Sardaran Gurdwara was developed by Sardar Sujan Singh Rai Bahadur. It was a prominent worship place for Sikh in the pre-partition area and includes a school and building.

As per reports, a delegation of experts will assist the district administration with the restoration process.
