Rawalpindi: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has devised a plan in its bid to beautify the garrison city as per international standards, a news source reported. PHA Director General Asia Gul said the landscape plan has been devised under the Clean and Green Programme.
She said PHA has started a plantation drive in the city, adding that audit of the Clean and Green Programme is also underway to ensure transparency and effective implementation.
The agency had already compiled a list of as many as 40 ancient buildings in its bid to restore the heritage sites to their original status. PHA is working on the project in collaboration with a private institution.
To carry out the project, the authority would approach fine arts students of the National College of Arts-Rawalpindi Chapter, Fatima Jinnah Women University and Pir Mehar Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University for creative suggestions aimed at beautifying the structures and establishments.
