Lahore: Lahore Commissioner, who is also Metropolitan Corporation Administrator, Asif Bilal Lodhi has announced that public operations in Lahore will be managed in a manner similar to that followed in smart cities across the globe, a news source reported. The purpose of making Lahore a smart city is to provide better facilities to its residents.

In this regard, the commissioner presided over a meeting held in his office on Thursday (August 22). Senior officials from the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB, the Urban Unit, the Water and Sanitation Authority, the Lahore Development Authority, the Lahore Waster Management Company, the Lahore Transport Company, the Parks and Horticulture Authority, Punjab Police and the Punjab Food Authority.

Briefing the members present at the meeting, PITB officers said that a plan is being considered to transform Lahore into a smart city by integrating modern technology and artificial intelligence. For this purpose, relevant data will collected from all the related departments in the first phase of project planning.
