Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan recently announced his government’s decision to allocate PKR 83 billion for the development of the tribal districts in the province – a news source reported.
He expressed his views on the matter during a khuli kachehri in Garyum area of North Waziristan. He said that the provincial government had already issued PKR 2.92 billion for Miramshah market’s development, while PKR 6.9 billion had been allocated for the Tribal Electric Supply Company Company (TESCO) to facilitate the electrification efforts in North Waziristan.
He said that the electrification of Garyum area had commenced in 2017 at a cost of PKR 197.978 million. Under the project, an 11KV feeder facility was recently inaugurated. The feeder, he said will provide electricity to 55 villages of the area.
The khuli kachehri was also attended by MPAs Mir Kalam, Iqbal Wazir and Malik Shah Mohammad Wazir besides tribal elders of the area. The chief minister listened to the problems of the locals and issued directives for their resolution.
