Lahore: The Government of Punjab has approved and allocated a monetary budget worth PKR 8 billion for the Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority, reported a news source. The Pakistan Tehreek Insaf-led government has decided to lay immense focus on provision of clean drinking water for the people.
Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar will personally monitor the installation of water filtration plants by the authority. The Aab-e-Pak Authority was formed last month with an aim to address the problems faced by the people of Punjab in terms of access to clean drinking water.

The authority will install several new water filtration plants across the province and also rehabilitate over 1,000 in active water supply projects. To implement its plans, the authority sent a proposal for provision of PKR 8 billion to the Punjab Planning and Development Board. The board has now sanction approval for provision of the required amount of funds.
