Islamabad: A PKR 7 billion budget has been approved for the construction of Bhara Kahu Bypass and the expansion of Murree road, a news source quoted National Highway Authority (NHA) Assistant Director Muhammad Farooq. Development work on the project will begin in January 2018.
According to details, Bhara Kahu Bypass will have three underpasses, while under the expansion of Murree Road, one more lane will be added to both sides of the existing road. He also pledged that encroachments on government land along Bhara-Kahu Murree Road will be removed.
Farooq was monitoring the operation launched against encroachments on Murree Road, which was headed by Islamabad Assistant Commissioner Hassan Waqar Cheema with the aid of police force.
Cheema told the media that NHA will develop a link road connecting the Convention Centre with Shahdara with an estimated cost of PKR 3 billion.
