Islamabad: Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin on Thursday (March 31) informed the government that more than PKR 7.5 billion loans have been disbursed to 48,000 beneficiaries under Kamyab Pakistan Programme (KPP), according to media reports.

Finance Minister Tarin chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee of KPP, which was attended by Naya Pakistan Housing Development Authority (NAPHDA) Chairman Lt. General (R) Anwar Ali Hyder, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Deputy Governor, Bank of Punjab President Zafar Masud, Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Chairman Aamir Khan, Akhuwat Foundation CEO Amjad Saqib, and other senior officers.
During the meeting, the finance minister was briefed on the progress of KPP. It was disclosed that after the success of the first phase, KPP is being extended throughout the country. The meeting attendees were informed that many applications for loans are being received through SMS.

Moreover, the meeting discussed the operational issues related to easy access and the disbursement process of loans. Finance Minister Tarin asked the stakeholders to distribute interest-free loans to help people achieve self-sufficiency.
