Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan has released funds worth PKR 4 billion for the expansion of 167 kilometre long Jaglot-Skardu Road, according to news source. The project is expected to be complete by 2020 at a total cost of PKR 30 billion.
The federal government has reserved PKR 8.5 billion for the project during the current fiscal year, out of which PKR 1.5 billion will be used for acquiring land and the remaining will be spent on expansion and rehabilitation of the road.
Frontier Works Organisation has been engaged for the project; it has conducted the initial site survey and is now preparing work design. The development work on five overhead bridges is also underway, which has been completed by 46%.
