Hyderabad: The Sindh government has released PKR 3 million for each deputy commissioner to rehabilitate rain-affected areas in Hyderabad, according to news published in the leading newspaper on August 20.

The provincial ministers Sharjeel Inam Memon, Imtiaz Shaikh, Jam Khan Shoro, and Nawab Taimoor Talpur visited the flood-hit areas of different villages and towns to monitor relief operations being executed by the district administration and other departments.

During the visit, Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro directed the administration officials to use all available resources to ensure quick drainage of rainwater from low-lying areas. While Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh mentioned that the government will offer compensation to the people for their loss. He went on to say that he will carry out a survey of losses in the rain-affected areas. Reportedly, Forest Minister Nawab Taimoor revealed that the government will not be collecting taxes from the Umerkot area.
