Islamabad: The federal government has prepared an extensive PKR 3 billion plan for initiating several rehabilitation and development projects in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), according to a news source.

Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider in Islamabad on Thursday. Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Ali Amin Gandapur, Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda, Minister for Planning Khusro Bakhtiar, Minister for Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Sania Nishtar, the AJK chief secretary, and other officials concerned were all present at the occasion.
Under this initiative, the authorities concerned will restore areas damaged in cross-LoC (Line of Control) shelling.
The meeting reviewed several proposed initiatives with regard to the rehabilitation of the people living along the LoC, reconstruction of their homes, and the provision of ‘Sehat Insaf Cards’ (health cards) to them.

Moreover, the officials concerned gave briefings on the Neelum-Jhelum power project, Mansehra-Muzaffarabad-Mangla-Mirpur infrastructural development project, Kohala hydropower project, Mangla Dam extension project, as well as tourism development initiatives being undertaken in AJK.
