Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) finance ministry has approved a significant funding boost of Rs 3.14 billion to expedite development initiatives across the province’s merged districts. This move aims to enhance critical sectors, including health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure, as part of a broad strategy to support sustainable growth and improve living standards in these regions.
According to local sources, the approved funds will be distributed across multiple sectors. The agriculture sector will receive Rs 65 million, helping to bolster food security and crop management programs. Education funding includes Rs 284 million for primary and secondary education and Rs 200 million allocated for higher education, providing essential resources to improve learning facilities and access for students.

In the healthcare sector, Rs 297 million has been designated to expand medical services and infrastructure, addressing critical healthcare needs within the merged districts. Infrastructure in the energy sector is set to benefit from Rs 110 million, aimed at supporting stable power supply and modernizing energy facilities. Additional funds are earmarked for housing and development projects, which will receive Rs 56 million to enhance residential amenities and services in these districts.
Other key sectors also received funding, including food (Rs 8 million), forestry (Rs 19 million), industry (Rs 47 million), information services (Rs 2 million), law and justice (Rs 49 million), livestock (Rs 33 million), and local government initiatives (Rs 1 million). The KP finance department will oversee the distribution of these funds, ensuring that resources are efficiently allocated to administrative projects, staff salaries, and utility upgrades across the merged districts.

Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur highlighted the significance of the development package and directed the Revenue Department to expedite the issuance of electronic Property Cards. These digital cards, accessible through a mobile application, are designed to provide citizens with easier access to land records, promoting transparency and reducing conflicts related to property ownership.
CM Gandapur emphasized that this initiative is a core part of the provincial government’s revenue reform strategy, integrating information technology to streamline land record management in the merged districts.
With this substantial investment, the KP government aims to address longstanding developmental gaps and drive substantial improvements in public services and infrastructure, contributing to the long-term growth and stability of the merged districts.
