Sargodha: The government has issued PKR 25 million for the rehabilitation of roads to make Soon Sakesar Valley an attractive destination for tourists under Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s vision, a news source quoted Sargodha Division Commissioner Zafar Iqbal Sheikh. The valley is home to beautiful waterfalls, lakes, mountains, and fields, he added.

Commissioner Sheikh revealed that out of the PKR 190.84 million issued for the repair of roads in Soon Sakesar, PKR 170.48 million has already been utilised. In addition to that, the government has also issued funds worth PKR 25 million for the purpose. He also affirmed that development work on rehabilitation of roads will be completed by June 30, 2019.

Sharing details on the road works done so far, the commissioner said that the rehabilitation of roads connecting Khabeki Lake, Kherani Park, and Uchali Lake has been completed. He mentioned that related facilities for tourists such as a tuck-shop, a masjid, parks, and toilets have been set up in two lakes and Uchali Park.

The commissioner indicating of providing facilities such as hotels, parking facilities, and a watching tower for the tourists. The government has also approved Departmental Development Sub Committee’s project worth PKR 4 million for the valley. For this project, the department concerned will purchase 80 kanals of land, he added.
