Multan: South Punjab Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Saqib Zafar disclosed that PKR 240 billion were reserved for 2,000 uplift projects of South Punjab in the new financial year 2022-2023, according to news published in the leading newspaper on July 15.

A review meeting of the Annual Development Program (ADP) was held which was presided over by ACS Zafar. During the meeting, it was informed that the uplift schemes included 1,548 ongoing and 443 new projects. The secretary directed the authorities concerned to complete the projects within the stipulated time along with full utilisation of released funds. He also ordered them to follow all government-sanctioned guidelines for the development projects.
Moreover, the additional chief secretary informed that the utilisation of released funds in the last financial year was 97%, as PKR 181 billion was used out of PKR 186 billion. The officials (whose names were not disclosed) briefed the ACS on the projects included in the current financial year. As per the details, 541 projects were from Multan, 502 projects from Dera Ghazi (DG) Khan, and 439 projects from Bahawalpur.
The following are the details of some of the funds allocated for development schemes:
- PKR 365 million for rehabilitation of Shujaabad to Jalalpur Pirwala road
- PKR 100 million reserved for Kot Addu to Daira Deen Panah two-way road
- PKR 233 million reserved for Rangpur to Chowk Sarwar Shaheed Road
- PKR 250 million was allocated for the construction of a parking plaza in Multan

- PKR 125 million was earmarked for the Jehangirabad Multan sewerage project
