Rawalpindi: The Punjab government has allocated funds worth PKR 22.19 billion for constructing 19 dams (including Dadhocha Dam) and launching several other water schemes in Rawalpindi District, a news source reported.

The provincial government has allocated the funds under its annual development programme (ADP) for the (fiscal year) FY2019-20. As per reports, the executive will sanction the release of funds worth PKR 3.27 billion during the project’s inaugural phase.
The details of total allocations for these projects is as follows:
- Chahan Dam (PKR 1.56 billion)
- Mohata Dam (PKR 2.41 billion)
- Dadhocha Dam (PKR 6.2 billion)
- Papin Dam (PKR 1.22 billion)
- Mohra-Shera Dam (PKR 840.45 million)
- Mujahid Dam (PKR 980 million)
- Shahbazpur Dam, Taja Bara Dam, and Sadrial Dam (PKR 1.16 billion)
- Sora Dam (PKR 915 million)
- Shahpur Dam (PKR 350 million)
- Dharabi Dam and Manwal Dam (PKR 980 million)
- Dhok Hum Dam, Mandi Man, Dhok Jhang Dam, and Athol Lakhwal Dam (PKR 1.49 billion)
- Dhok Tuman Dam (PKR 1.54 billion)
- Gabheer Dam (PKR 92.49 million)
- Pind Varri Dam (PKR 950 million)
- Small dams and irrigation drains in Rawalpindi, Attok, Jhelum, and Chakwal (PKR 730 million)
- Rawal Dam expansion project (PKR 30 million)
