Sahiwal: The Punjab government recently notified the issuance of PKR 21 million for the reconstruction of Sahiwal-Faisalabad Road, a news source reported on February 15. The provincial executive intends to connect the said artery with the Samundri Interchange.

According to the details revealed, the authorities concerned have already completed land survey for the initiative. Following its reconstruction, the 59-kilometre-long stretch will provide direct access to the motorway via Qutab Shahana Bridge at River Ravi.
Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan had provided his approval to the project proposal during his visit to Sahiwal. As per the news source, the provincial government plans to spend PKR 200 million on the reconstruction of the road link between College Chowk and Samundri Interchange.

In a related development, Commissioner Nadir Chattha has ordered the officials concerned to complete the tendering process for the project before June 30.
