Lahore: The various zones of Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) seek a total of PKR 210 million for installation of streetlights in various parts of Lahore – a news source reported.
According to details, MCL plans to install about 15,023 streetlights on the main roads in the city, while another 246,635 lights will be installed in various union councils within Lahore.

The Commissioner Lahore and Administrator MCL had directed the 9 zones of MCL to submit estimates of the costs for installation of these streetlights.
The estimates for Ravi Zone are PKR 18.2 million; PKR 37.09 million for Gulberg ; PKR 19.02 million for Nishtar Zone; PKR 27.95 million for Shalamar Zone; PKR 36.09 million for Samanabad Zone; PKR 7 million for Wagha Zone; PKR 10 million for Aziz Bhatti Zone; PKR 31.07 million for Allama Iqbal Zone; and, PKR 15.02 million for Ganj Bakhsh Zone.

The streetlights will be bought through Punjab government’s Punjab Municipal Services Programme, and MCL will issue the tenders after the District Planning & Coordination Committee provides its technical approval.
