Muzaffargarh: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Saturday announced that an SEZ would be established in the city — with the provincial government also expected to provide an additional PKR 19 billion development package for the district, according to news sources.
The CM made these revelations while presiding over a meeting at Circuit House. He stated that the creation of an Industrial Estate in Muzaffargarh would cover 400 acres of land and was expected to spur employment opportunities on a large scale. Moreover, he also announced the establishment of a university in Muzaffargarh.

CM Buzdar also took the opportunity to inaugurate various other projects, including the construction of a two-way road from Muzaffargarh to Alipur, and Jatoi to Sethari Road. Similarly, he also launched projects related to the upgradation of rural health centres in Shah Jamal and Muzaffargarh, and the extension of the Rescue 1122 service to the Kot Addu and Jatoi areas.
Lastly, it was further announced that the upcoming development package was being formulated in order to boost socio-economic progress for the inhabitants of the Muzaffargarh district. It is also expected to include the construction of parks at Head Punjnad and Head Taunsa — with the initiative aimed at bolstering tourism in the region.
