Islamabad: For the construction of dams and power projects, the ministry of revenue has proposed to allocate PKR 85 billion and PKR 80 billion respectively in the fiscal year 2019-20, according to a news source. These projects will be developed under the Public Sector Development Programme.

Out of the PKR 85 billion proposed for the construction of dams, PKR 20 billion has been allocated for Diamer-Bhasha Dam and PKR 15 billion for Mohmand Dam. In addition to that, PKR 55 billion has been proposed for Dasu Hydropower Project.

During his budget 2019-20 speech delivered yesterday, the Minister of State for Revenue Hammad Azhar said the focus of the federal development programme is on the construction of dams and sewerage projects.
The minister added further that the PKR 20 billion proposed for Diamer-Bhasha Dam will be spent on acquiring land for the project.
