So far, notices have been sent to 1,000 defaulters, while special teams have been formed for the recovery effort. Reportedly, the staff members who fail to make their due recoveries will have to face departmental action.
During the past two months of the operation, 400 illegal water connections have been disconnected.
Previously, the RCB had set a target of PKR 250 million in recoveries from water bills and illegal connections. For the seven months between August 2018 and February 2019, the recoveries have been recorded at PKR 106 million.
In each ward, four staff members will recover bills and dues. RCB Secretary Qaisar Mahmood said that the target will be met by June 31.
