Lakki Marwat: The government has approved a sum of PKR 120 million for development schemes in Lakki tribal subdivision, according to a news report. Deputy Commissioner Jehangi Azam Wazir said that the amount has been approved under the annual developmental programme to provide Bettani tribesmen with the basic amenities of life.
The commissioner was speaking at a meeting in the District Headquarters Complex, Tajazai. MNA Mufti Abdul Shakoor, Assistant Commissioner Riaz Mehsud, civil & military officials, and several tribal chiefs also attended the meeting. The development schemes and their execution plans were discussed.
Under the annual development programme, new roads, bridges, and culverts will be built, and the present roads in the tribal subdivision will be repaired.
Funds have also been allocated for the livestock, forestry and related sectors; aimed at alleviating property issues and promoting livelihood opportunities for the locals.
A mobile veterinary health unit, fruit plant nurseries, and orchards have also been planned under the programme. Moreover, the administration intends to provide tribal people with bee-keeping training – in order to manage bee boxes under this poverty alleviation initiative.
