Peshawar: The district government recently passed the PKR 12.48 billion budget for the fiscal year 2019-20, according to the news sources. Out of the said outlay, the authorities concerned have allocated PKR 1.47 allocated for development initiatives.
City district nazim Mohammad Asim Khan presented the budget under which a sum of PKR 780 million (55% of the development funds) were left to the discretion of the city council for appropriate utilisation.
Ahead of the budget speech, the acting convener Advocate Mubashir Manzoor asked the members to approve the budget in the same day, considering it was only a salary budget.

The revenue estimates showed of the projected PKR 12.48 billion revenue, the district is set to receive PKR 11.75 billion from the Provincial Finance Commission Award, PKR 630 million form local funds and PKR 80 million as the district council grants.
The expenditure estimate showed an allocation of PKR 10.34 billion for current expenditure, PKR 80 million for non-development expenditure form district grant, PKR 620 million local fund and PKR 1.47 billion for development programme.

This annual development breakdown shows an allocation of PKR 283 for education PKR 142 million for health, PKR 212 million for agriculture, women empowerment, youth and sports initiatives.
