Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sought PKR 10 billion from the federal government for expansion of Islamabad Expressway, according to a news report. This expansion will lead Islamabad Expressway to G.T. Road.
The request was forwarded by CDA Chairman Usman Akhtar Bajwa to the Ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) on 19th March. As per CDA, construction work on this part of the expressway will be carried out into two phases. In the first phase, a 5-kilometre road patch connecting Koral Interchange to Naval Anchorage will be completed. The development of a 7-kilometre long track connecting Naval Anchorage with GT Road will be completed in the second phase.
