Karachi: The Government of Sindh has proposed the allocation of PKR 1.33 billion in the 2019-20 budget for restoration of dilapidated should buildings. The provincial government has also prepared a proposal for allocating of PKR 4.88 billion for various education schemes.

The Sindh Government is planning on launching 199 new schemes for the construction of colleges and primary, elementary, secondary and higher secondary schools. These institutes will be constructed across the province, especially in remote districts. In addition, the government will also propose the allocation of funds worth PKR 3.81 billion for developing cadet schools.

Out of the proposed budget for the education sector, the government plants to allocate PKR 660.7 million to the construction of model schools in Sindh. While PKR 100 million has been proposed for the construction of a science museum in Karachi and Larkana.

The proposed PKR 1.33 billion will be spent on restoration of school buildings that have been declared dangerous due to their deteriorated physical condition.
