Lahore: Two infrastructure development schemes worth PKR 1.3 billion have been approved by Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PPDWP), a news source reported. PPDWP approved the schemes in its 5th and 6th meetings.
Planning and Development Chairman Habib-ur-Rehman presided over these meetings which were also attended by secretary and members P&D, concerned provincial secretaries and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments.
PPDWP had earlier accorded approval to three road projects at a cost of around PKR 2.7 billion to be constructed in Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Chakwal and Dera Ghazi Khan.
One project involves the dualisation of Gujranwala-Sheikhupura Road at a cost of PKR 1,408.481 million. It includes acquisition of land, compensation of structure and the relocation of utility services. The second project comprises the construction of an 18-km road from Dhulla to Mangwal in Chakwal district at a cost of PKR 684.593 million.
The third project is the construction of a 46-km metalled road from Surthok to Theekar through Gata Rekih in DG Khan at a cost of PKR 573.663 million.
