Lahore: Under the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB)’s watch, the first-ever digital policy in Punjab is being introduced ‘to promote the digital economy, information and communication industry and e-governance in the province’, according to the news sources.

Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Javan Bakht expressed his views on digital policy for Punjab during a performance review meeting of the PITB organised by the Chief Minister’s Special Monitoring Unit. He stated that this modern monitoring mechanism will improve service delivery and limit chances of foul play. He added that e-Pay, Qeemat Punjab, E-Khidmat Center, Police Khidmat Markaz, Baldia Online, Citizen Feedback Monitoring Programme, and e-Libraries were linked in this series.

Moreover, PITB Chairman Azfar Manzoor stated that Imdad Program, live COVID-19 Dashboard, and Corona Relief Tiger Force App had been established under the PITB’s watch. He also briefed the meeting regarding the present status on multiple operational and under development portals and online systems.
