Quetta: The Standing Committee for Women Development-Balochistan has expressed its resolve towards launching the Pink Bus Service within the seven divisions of the province soon, a news source reported. The committee has decided to take this measure in order to ensure a safe, exclusive and hassle-free journey for female travellers.

The committee has recommended to launch the bus service in all the divisional headquarters of the province. It said that it will later extend the service after its successful execution.
The standing committee has also recommended to set up technical training centres and handicraft centres in seven districts of Balochistan. It has suggested to establish the technical training centres at Awran, Lasbella, Zhob, Panjgur, Turbat, Kharan, and Pishin. The committee said that the authorities concerned will have to release a grant worth PKR 230 million for this purpose.

As per sources, a change of name for the Department of Women Development is also under observation. It may be changed to Women Empowerment Department Balochistan.
