Lahore: Punjab Minister for Housing & Urban Development Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed has announced that a pilot project to allot 50 affordable houses under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) to the homeless in chosen villages will start soon, a news source reported.

These houses will be offered on a very convenient payment plan, the minister revealed. The provincial minister shared this information while presiding over Punjab Housinng and Town Planning Agency (PHATA)’s board of directors meeting.

Punjab Housing Secretary Naseem Sadiq, PHATA Director General Liaqat Ali Chattha and other board members attended the meeting. The meeting members were presented with a report on land identified for construction of affordable NPHP houses in the rural areas.

Furthermore, the meeting also discussed developments so far carried out on identification of more land for construction of such houses in several villages. As per the minister, under the NPHP Rural Housing Project, the Punjab government will give 50 houses on a convenient payment plant to the homeless people in chosen villages in every district of Punjab. In this regards, a pilot project will be initiated soon.
