Lahore: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has slashed fares for its domestic flights (between Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi) by 14% as part of its Independence Day celebration, according to a news source published on August 7.

The national carrier made this announcement regarding PIA fares through its official Twitter account. Reportedly, the offer – hailed as ‘Jashan-e-Azadi offer’ – will be available between August 7-14.
Moreover, passengers will be allowed to take luggage weighing up to 73-kilograms without any additional cost. The airline has also announced the resumption of domestic flights from Multan, Sukkur and Gwadar airports – starting from August 13.

Meanwhile, Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives Asad Umar also announced yesterday (August 6) that passengers will be able to board and travel on the airplanes in a ‘normal manner’ from October 1. He said this while addressing the nation and announcing reopening of major sectors.
