Gilgit: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced to start flights from Faisalabad to Skardu to promote domestic tourism, according to media sources. According to the information provided, the airline will begin operating flights on this route on July 7.

Previously, the national carrier chose to fly from Sialkot to Skardu. The flights will begin on this route on July 3. The airline has already begun flights to Skardu from places including Pakistan Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi.
Furthermore, in an effort to encourage tourism in the country, PIA resumed its Air Safari flights. The inaugural flight of Air Safari took off from Islamabad International Airport. On-board were 91 tourists, including Minister of Power Hammad Azhar and foreign nationals from at least 13 countries.

Likewise, PIA has given a 50% discount on cherry shipments from Skardu to Sialkot, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore. The new tariffs are PKR 150 per kilogramme rather than PKR 300 per kg.
