Islamabad: Senior Punjab Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal – while presiding over the 88th board meeting of Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) – approved two new housing schemes for District Attock, according to news published on September 16.

As per the source, New City Paradise Housing Scheme will be established in Mouza Kohliya Islam Garh, Khaliq Dad, Tehsil Hasan Abdal of District Attock. Moreover, the second project ‘D-One Capital Parks City Housing Scheme’ will be built in Mouza Ratwal and Dolatpur of Tehsil Fateh Jhang in Attock District. The meeting also concurred that as per the established policy, a 20% quota in the said housing schemes will be reserved for Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP).

Minister Iqbal expressed concern over unjustified delays in the approval of housing schemes and proposed for a focal person to be appointed in the Board of Revenue (BoR) for the early approval of the mentioned housing projects. It was also revealed that a complete water supply and drainage plan for the approval of new housing projects will be made mandatory for obtaining approval. Furthermore, Minister Iqbal reiterated that any delays in housing projects for the homeless will not be tolerated and that the provincial government will extend all possible support to the developers for speedy completion of these projects.
