Manshera: China Gezhouba Group Company (CGGC) on Sunday announced (October 24) that phase-wise work will resume on the Dasu hydropower project today (October 25), according to news sources.

As per the details, the Chinese firm was satisfied with the security arrangements at the project site and almost all staff and engineers have reached the site. It was disclosed that more than 466 Chinese, 2,500 Pakistanis, and 22 foreigners are working on the Dasu project.
Moreover, Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has tirelessly worked to improve the security of the project. It was reported that WAPDA had been in close coordination with higher-ups of CGGC to provide a secure environment for all workers.
It is pertinent to mention that three other Chinese firms have already started work on the roads, colony, and transmission lines on the Dasu hydropower project. It was revealed that Gezhouba was working on the powerhouse and dam. The construction of the 4,320 megawatts (MW) dam started in 2019 and is expected to be complete in 2023.

According to a notice issued, the specific return time of every staff will be determined by a phone call. It was also mentioned in the notice that the staff must bring coronavirus vaccination certificates, medical certificates from the local clinic, and non-criminal record certificates.
