Rawalpindi: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has completed the first phase of sewerage system UC 70-75, according to a news report. This has come at a cost of PKR 170 million; and the remaining phases II and III are expected to complete during next year.
WASA Director Water Supply, Afzal Baloch told media sources on 8th March 2018 that the Punjab Government has released funds of PKR 470 million to complete this 6.5-kilometre long project, required to carry trunk sewerage from Koran to Kurri. This he added had come as a measure to improve the sewerage system in the UCs. Furthermore, he added that only 40% of the city had a fully functional sewerage system, while the remaining 60% was relying on an ill-equipped system.
