Faisalabad: Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development & Management Company (FIEDMC) Chairman Mian Kashif Ishfaq said on Wednesday (July 28) that the first phase of the Allama Iqbal Industrial City has been completed, news sources reported.

The project is one of the nine major Industrial zones developed under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and is being developed with a total budget of USD 7.5 billion. Furthermore, the chairman expressed his pleasure with the pace of work and development, stating that nearly 20 industrial units have begun production, covering one-third of the land in the first phase of the industrial city, with the remaining units expected to be operational by the end of the year.
Moreover, he said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the ministries and the FIEDMC management to facilitate foreign and domestic investors and establish a one-window operation to expedite the work and improve delivery. Mr Kashif also said that the provision of facilities like basic infrastructure, including gas, electricity, roads and civic centres is the priority of the authorities.

The Allama Iqbal Industrial City is a 3,300-acre specialised industrial project that will feature Furniture City, Apparel Park, a modern business centre, and the country’s largest expo centre when completed. The industrial units are being assigned to export-oriented industries.
