Rawalpindi: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has compiled a list of as many as 40 ancient buildings in its bid to restore the heritage sites to their original status, a news source reported. PHA is working on the project in collaboration with a private institution.
To carry out the project, the authority would approach fine arts students of the National College of Arts-Rawalpindi Chapter, Fatima Jinnah Women University and Pir Mehar Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University for creative suggestions aimed at beautifying the structures and establishments.
PHA would hold a competition to determine the most creative idea and the winner will be given a prize while the winning idea would be used to beautify the heritage sites. The buildings will be maintained on a regular basis.
PHA Chairman Raja Asif Mehmood said that ancient buildings were a part of Rawalpindi’s rich history, and the authority was making utmost efforts to protect the heritage.
