Sargodha: Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has decided to launch a grand operation against billboards in the city, reported a news source. The decision was taken during a meeting presided over by PHA Director General Sargodha Malik Javaid Naseem. The meeting members were briefed on the planned operation, which is being carried out on orders issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The meeting members also discussed the role of advertisers regarding removing hoarding and billboards in areas that fall under the jurisdiction of PHA. Reportedly, the advertisers were also informed of the orders issued by the Supreme Court in form of written notices. Only a few out the advertisers who received the notices gave consent to cooperate with the PHA and they also started to remove some of the hoardings.
Giving instructions regarding the operation, Naseem said that negligence of any kind will not be tolerated. The advertisers are given a deadline which expires today to remove these billboards on their own as operation clean-up will start tomorrow against those not complying with the instructions.
