Sialkot: Deputy Commissioner Dr Nasir Mehmood Bashir announced that the Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA) would be made functional within the city — with a view to beautify Sialkot, a news source reported. As per the publication, a Schedule of New Expenditure (SNE) will be approved by the Punjab government for this purpose.

The commissioner made these comments while addressing a meeting of local PHA officials regarding the Clean Green Sialkot initiative. The event was also attended by PHA Chairman Zulfiqar Bhatti, Director General Qutb Shuja Bhatti, ADC Finance & Planning Kareem Bakhsh and a number of other high level government and police officials.

The meeting reviewed the Clean, Green Sialkot campaign, including the details of plantation campaigns, the state of green belts, and the upgradation of parks within the city. Additionally, the meeting in particular reviewed the developmental and upgradation work currently being conducted in the city’s Gulshan Iqbal Park.
