Rawalpindi: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has devised plans regarding the rehabilitation and maintenance of the Rashid Minhas Road under the ‘Glorious Rawalpindi’ project, a news source reported.

A meeting to this effect took place at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) on Monday. PHA Chairman Asif Mahmood, RCCI President Shahid Saleem, and other officials concerned, were all present at the occasion.

The participants finalised a beautification plan for Murree Road under which signboards will be installed on the route from Islamabad & Rawalpindi to the Murree hill station.

Moreover, the participants suggested establishing food streets in Raja Bazaar and Moti Bazaar, as well as parking plazas in different areas of the city.

PHA Chairman Asif Mahmood said that the proposed food streets would be set up near the city’s metro stations. He added that the authority has prepared a survey report of all historical sites in Rawalpindi to this effect.

A draft of the proposal would be presented to Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar for final approval. It is pertinent to mention that the RCCI is funding the ‘Glorious Rawalpindi’ project.
