Reportedly, the five sites selected for the project include Allama Iqbal Park, Rawal Park, Pothohar Park, Liaquat Bagh and Commercial Market Children’s Park. It was informed that PHA has already prepared Project Concept -1 (PC-1) and the work is expected to start from March and will take three months to complete. According to a PHA spokesperson, the project’s goal is to save rainwater for the city’s future plantation and horticulture activities, which would alleviate the load on subterranean aquifers. This will also improve water availability for citizens, while the new project will meet horticultural demands.
