Faisalabad: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has retrieved land originally marked as greenbelt in Samundri, a news source reported. This particular piece of land had been illegally occupied for the last several years.

The encroachers who had occupied the greenbelt land had constructed permanent structures there. Furthermore, they had also shown massive resistance in the past when the PHA staff tried to retrieve said land.
To ensure that situation remains under control this time, the PHA staff carried out the operation in presence of a big team of staff. PHA Director General Zaheer Ahmed supervised the whole operation.

Soon after retrieving the land, the PHA started its work to rehabilitate the greenbelt land and help serve it original purpose of beautifying the neighbourhood. This will also help PHA retain possession of the land.
