Multan: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has submitted a proposal to the government for constructing 20 new parks in the city, as reported on June 12.

According to the details, this announcement was made by PHA Director General Asif Rauf during a briefing to Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) South Punjab Fuad Hashim Rabbani at his office on Tuesday. DG Asif Rauf outlined the expenditure plans, estimating PKR 130 million for the restoration of Jinnah Park, Rs220 million for Shamsabad Park, and Rs150 million for the repair and maintenance of Qasim Park, with a total cost estimated at Rs1 billion.

ACS Rabbani instructed the Parks and Horticulture Authorities of Bahawalpur, Multan, and DG Khan to upgrade parks in South Punjab, emphasising the need for green spaces and a major park in Multan. He prioritised restoring Jinnah and Shamsabad Parks with new facilities and jogging tracks and called for tree planting along major roads.
South Punjab Agriculture Secretary Saqib Ali Ateel reported that over PKR 18 billion of the allocated PKR 19.992 billion for the fiscal year 2023-24 has been spent on 24 agricultural development schemes.
