Multan: Multan Deputy Commissioner, who is also Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Chairman, Mudasir Riaz Malik has ordered the immediate removal of billboards that pose threats to public life and assets, reported a news source. He also mentioned how huge billboards set up on building pose dangers to public safety.
Malik also ordered the PHA to form a policy regarding issuance of NOC for hoardings and billboards. The policy will help PHA deal with illegal advertisement practice. Present at the meeting, PHA Chairman Ijaz Janjua said that the authority will allow only those contractors to install billboard who pay the due taxes and fees to advertise.
Malik was informed that PHA removed various billboards to restore the city’s aesthetics. Complying to orders, PHA publicity contractors agreed to voluntarily remove billboards that could be threatening for public safety.
